Case study on the Current Status of Senior Workers¡¯ Human Rights Abuses

Abstract
|

|
The purpose of this study is to conduct case study on the current status of senior workers¡¯working rights as well as human rights and provide foundational material to enhance socialrecognition of the elderly¡¯s human rights. According to the result of this case study, there existvarious human rights abuses cases such as threatening senior workers¡¯ health rights, damageresulted from the application of the inclusive wage system, verbal violence from customers,matters associated with their physiological basic rights, and damage caused by the non-applicationof the nonindustrial accident compensation insurance. Based on the result of this case study asthe ground, the researcher is going to make political suggestions as follows. It is needed tosupport senior workers to protect their health rights at earlier stages in a preventive dimension,build a preventive and remedial system to reduce violence over senior workers, give seniorworkers education on human rights as well as labor law, and conduct diverse and aggressivepublicity activities to change recognition over the image of the elderly
